The Great Big Green Week

Great Big Green Week is the UK’s annual celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.    The Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership has taken part since its inception as part of COP26 in 2021.  Organisations big and small are invited to plan an activity during the week 7th – 15th June this year to continue to build awareness of the need for us all to ‘do our bit’ for climate and nature.

Funding of up to £200 per project is available for Cumberland-based groups to organise an event which brings people together to:

  • Celebrate local food – produce and ingredients
  • Promote low carbon options
  • Encourage healthy eating
  • Minimise food waste
  • Avoid all single use plastic
